Are you worried about your thinning hairline? Don’t worry you’re not alone, there is an enormous amount of people suffering from male pattern baldness and searching for a solution for their hair loss. Yes, a hair transplant is the first thing that comes to mind. But the process of hair transplant is very expensive and not everyone is willing to go for it. So here are a few mind-blowing non-surgical alternatives to a hair transplant.

Minoxidil

Minoxidil commonly known as Rogaine belongs to a medication called vasodilator that helps in widening blood vessels and promoting blood flow. It is a topical treatment and its purpose is to stimulate hair growth and increase blood flow which then supplies nutrients to hair follicles. As there are no changes in hormones, it is also completely safe for women.

Dutasteride

There is a male sex hormone called dihydrotestosterone whose increased amount causes hair loss. Dutasteride helps in blocking the enzyme which is responsible for converting testosterone into dihydrotestosterone. Dutasteride comes in the form of tablets and it involves hormonal changes thus it is not safe for women to use.

Finasteride

Same as Dutasteride, Finasteride decreases dihydrotestosterone and is not recommended for women. 1 mg per day of Finasteride is generally recommended, and also it is important to not take it 3 times a week or it will disrupt the effectiveness.

Note: After 2-3 months of the treatment, finasteride hair shedding can occur. This shedding is nothing to worry about, it happens because your hair follicles go from the resting or telogen phase to the growth phase. This just makes way for new hair to grow.

Low-level Laser Therapy (lllt)

It is a painless and non-surgical process where a low-level light laser is applied directly to your scalp which improves the activity in the cells. This ultimately promotes blood flow and improves hair growth. It is a very convenient process and just takes 25 minutes per person. It is also a very safe alternative for women because there are no alterations of hormones involved.

Vitamin Infusion Therapy

Vitamin infusion therapy is best for someone who is suffering from diet-related issues or has undergone stomach or bowel surgery. In this method Vitamins and minerals are directly applied into the bloodstream through an intravenous drip. While vitamin supplements give just 10% absorption of nutrients, vitamin infusion therapy gives 100% absorption of nutrients.

Platelet-rich Plasma Therapy

This treatment for hair loss involves a three-step process. First, a sample of blood is taken from the arm and placed into a centrifuge to separate the different components of the blood. After the separation, the blood will be divided into three distinct layers: platelet-poor plasma, platelet-rich plasma, and red blood cells. The platelet-rich plasma is then administered to your scalp or affected area.

Scalp Micropigmentation

Scalp micropigmentation is a non-surgical cosmetic method that involves the application of pigment to the scalp similar to microblading which is used for eyebrows. The pigment is applied to the scalp in a series of tiny dots, which mimics the appearance of short, shaved hair. The scalp micropigmentation is used to create the illusion of a full head of hair and can be used to cover up hair loss, bald spots, or scars.

Natural Alternatives To A Hair Transplant

Caffeine is considered one of the best natural alternatives because it stimulates hair growth. And the direct application gives the best results. There are many caffeine hair growth products available. You can choose whatever suits you the best.

If you don’t need a hair transplant and your line has just started thinning, rosemary oil can also help.

Lifestyle Changes

Changes in your lifestyle will definitely not revive your hairline like a hair transplant but they can help to retard the hair loss process. Here are a few tips

  • Nutrition rich diet
  • Avoiding tight hairstyles
  • Avoiding harsh styling treatments
  • Getting support and therapy if you’re suffering from hair loss due to stress and anxiety

These were a few alternatives to a hair transplant. But we recommend consulting a doctor before using any alternatives involving medication.
